The Art & Sounds of Blue Note: Hank Mobley - Turnaround LP

Here at Nitro-Retro we are BIG fans of the classic Blue Note album cover art just as much as the music and artists it produced.
Especially during a roughly 10-year span from the mid-50's to mid-60's. This post kicks off a 1 week-long tribute to Blue Note Records.
Boldly designed by the modernist graphic design talents of Reid Miles, he designed over 500 Blue Note album covers – mostly with free-range to experiment with photography, layout and typeface, giving a unique and signature look to the Blue Note label. Over the next 7 days, we will pay tribute to 1 album a day– focusing on the Reid Miles cover art for the artist and a favorite track from album.

Starting with the 1965 LP "The Turnaround" by the great tenor sax-man Hank Mobley
Enjoy the title track, "The Turnaround" (Song 1/Side 1). The album cover's large, bold black on white hand-painted curved-arrow illustration perfectly matches this stellar example of soul-jazz. DIGIT!
